Diploma in Hospitality and Bereavement Management – MQA/KR11495
The Bereavement Management programme is designed to develop up-to-date skills and knowledge for funeral operation and management. Students will learn about responsiveness surrounding funerals and hospitality with an emphasis on the social and cultural practices associated with this industry. Students learn how to execute the plans and procedures required for the successful arrangement and operation of a hospitality bereavement, including the administrative duties related to funeral settings and implementations. In addition to that, the programme will enhance students’ knowledge of the psychological, social and cultural elements correlated with death and grief of loss.
For subjects requiring the acquisition of skills, such as funeral settings and operations, a modular method of teaching and learning has been adopted. For each practical subjects, students will learn the techniques in a laboratory setting, where they will have an opportunity to improve their effectiveness and efficiency before applying them in actual working place.
